Borneo holds the oldest known figurative painting
Researchers identified the world’s oldest-known figurative painting in the Lubang Jeriji Saléh cave, in East Kalimantan, Borneo. The cave painting depicts an indeterminate animal, possibly wild cattle, and was dated using a uranium-series analysis to be at least 40,000 years old.
