The Wow! Signal (A Message From Aliens?)
In August of 1977, a noise was transmitted through the Big Ear telescrope at Ohio State University. It was not a physical noise, but rather a disturbance transmitted via radio, a signal so great that it would soon be called The Wow! Signal, a name derived after astronomer Jerry Ehman wrote the word "Wow!" on the piece of paper which picked up the signal.
